School gets new garden

Carleton Primary School has a new garden thanks to parent and former pupil Steve Woodhead.

Steve, who runs Creative Garden Designs, originally created the garden for the Broughton Game Show.

He offered to donate it to the school after discovering the Friends of Carleton PTA were raising money to buy a sensory garden.

Headteacher Duggie Speight said: "We have now started an after school gardening club where the children are going to be growing lots of plants, fruit and vegetables. The children are throroughly enjoying themselves in this club and the many exciting tasks that our reception/year one teacher Ruth Hopkins has planned."
